Harare-based Ruwa Pro Group Football Club (FC) says they are very optimistic to progress to the Premier League despite their recent drop in form.
They registered a 0-0 draw on a home match against Chiredzi on Saturday.
The result recorded their fourth straight match without a victory.
Speaking to this publication after their home game with Chiredzi FC, the team’s head coach Sammy Mavhenyengwa said the team is still a work in progress considering the players’ age groups.
“We were not impressed by the performance today but we still stand a chance to be the champions because basically, it is an under 21 team.
“Even though we are going to clash with teams like Mutare City Rovers, we still stand a chance, ” he said.
Ruwa once enjoyed life on top of the summit prior to the sudden downfall which the coach says is just a learning phase.
Commenting on his team’s performance, Chiredzi head coach Tinashe Zishiri said it was a fair game.
“Our opponents were playing very well and they had the home advantage but my team managed to secure a draw and I am very happy.
“I cannot really say we are going to come tops at the end of the season I just want my team to improve up the log to be at a better position like in the top three, ” he said.
Zishiri was marked his debut with Chiredzi as head coach on Saturday after taking over from Pardon Chinongwa.
