Seasoned Zimdancehall chanter Seh Calaz is rolling Kadoma into the New Year as he takes his act to The Odyssey Bar and Restaurant come December 31.
In a show dubbed “Mabhanditi New Year Shut Down Party”, Calaz is expected to bring the house down, come New Year’s Eve.
The Mabhanditi legion leader is slated to perform at the home of live music in the city of gold, The Odyssey, before an expectant crowd.
He’s not new to the venue since he has performed there before during headline Agricultural Show after parties. A full house is thus on the cards.
After a protracted Covid-19 induced sabbatical, Check- Check-Check, comes back to the venue he has previously showcased his talent at, with remarkable aplomb. He, not the least, has impressed every time he belts his booming voice on stage. The odyssey he has travelled from since he first performed at this imposing place is itself a feat.
While he will be a solo act this time around, many remember him in performances laced with stiff competition as he has previously contested the likes of Freeman, Killer T and a host of other Zimdancehall exponents at mega marathons here. He has rolled out a good account of himself at such duels, making him one of the so much adored in the city.
His beef with the late rival national icon, Jah Love, brought both humourous frenzy and blood cuddling shiver every time they took to dissing the respective opposite number on stage.
The two executed such character assassination as if they had gone to college for the act.
Such were the duo’s antics that fans looked forward to their dressing down each other with bated breath.
Natural camps existed in the turf war. The clamour for superiority took centre stage between the two archrivals.
“This is a show never to miss as l have been deprived of my favourite artist live on stage. That is the best way to welcome the New Year for me and my peeps,” commented Saeed on the upcoming show.
Now that the other half is gone, Calaz is left to show how he is moving on with his art.
Analysts and artists are agreed that the Covid-19 induced lockdowns afforded musicians an opportunity to perfect their act. Virtual performances accorded local artists a chance to sharpen their acts so as to stay in shape. In that train, Seh Calaz is not left out. Kadoma awaits the return of the Merk.
In order to safeguard organizers, performers and fans, the Covid-19   protocol is to be observed as the nation is still in the pandemic woods.
The Omicron variant hovers upon us.
The show, which is pencilled to start at midday on the Eve till the regulated time, promises all the ingredients of a thriller.  Conversely, this show is probably going to spill over into 2022, if New Year celebrations are anything to go by.
