Sporting activities are going well in schools following a green light given by the cabinet recently.
The cabinet recently resolved the resumption of all sporting activities in primary schools and ordered all secondary schools that have reached 70 percent of second dose vaccination to resume non-contact events.
Sports as part of learning can be a profession for gifted students in the future. The government has allowed the return of sports events in schools in order to give the talented their opportunity.
The Director of Communications in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Taungana Ndoro said sporting activities registered a successful resumption and everything is going on well in schools across the country.
“The resumption of sporting activities in schools is a welcome development since the sport is also good for the mental health of our learners.
“We have no challenges so far,” said Ndoro
Meanwhile, Ndoro stressed the need for all learners to remain vigilant and adhere to COVID-19 prevention measures as they partake in their activities.
“Nevertheless, we must remain vigilant to the reality that Covid-19 is still with us and let us remain on our guard for the management and prevention of Covid-19 in our schools,” added Ndoro
All sporting events were suspended in schools since 2020 when COVID-19 hit the country.
