The Tehillar Christian Network (TCN) Zimbabwe under the leadership of Reverend N. S. Malunga, working with the National Transport Drivers Association led by Mrs. Jotina Matanhire has partnered with Prophet Passion Java to launch a rank monitors (mahwindi) empowerment programme in Harare.

Speaking to Spiked Online Media in Harare today, Reverend Malunga said the event pencilled for Stodart Hall in Mbare tomorrow Wednesday 8 May 2024 at 10 a.m. will reap many benefits to the transport sector.

“The main objective of the conference with rank monitors (mahwindi) and transport operators is to inculcate the culture of moral uprightness and etiquette as well as positive behavioural change of this sector of the community in light of current trends whereby they are known for rowdy behaviour.

“As the Christian leaders and the moral compass of society, we call upon all transport sector stakeholders to be law-abiding citizens in the execution of their transportation services to the community,” Reverend Malunga said.

He applauded the government of the Republic of Zimbabwe for opening the transport sector to the generality of citizens based on registering their associations and businesses to ensure proper management.

Reverend Malunga paid tribute to Hon Scott Sakupwanya, the Member of Parliament for Mabvuku for availing buses to Mabvuku, a constituency often facing transport blues in the past. He also alluded to the philanthropic work of businessman, Sir Wicknell Chivhayo, who has donated a fleet of cars to his fellow congregants and artists as a way of ploughing back to the community.

He also acknowledged the critical role played by Prophet Passion Java, who doubles up as the NTDA Brand Ambassador in availing ambulances to the Chitungwiza Hospital to ease the dilemma faced by patients who need emergency medical services.

Reverend Malunga said the Second Republic under President Emmerson Mnangagwa has people at the heart after it availed affordable ZUPCO buses to address challenges faced by the commuting public countrywide.
