In line with its founding values, the Tehillar Christian Network has extended a giving hand to the needy people in Manicaland affected by Cyclone Idai.
The Tehillar Christian Network in partnership with a leading local radio station, Star FM, donated clothes, blankets and shoes to the people affected by Cyclone Idai.
In his speech while handing over the donations to StarFM, which facilitated the transportation of the donated goods to Chimanimani, Reverend Sam Malunga, the Founder President of the Tehillar Christian Network said the gesture was a fulfilment of Biblical statutes, oracles and ordinances.
“In the Bible, Jesus clearly teaches us that our neighbour is the one who is in need. That’s why he gave the parable of the Good Samaritan. In our small gesture as the Tehillar Christian Network, we contributed from our membership, blankets, clothes and shoes so that those affected by Cyclone idai would find comfort in this difficult and trying times,” Reverend Malunga said.
He went on to acknowledge the stance taken by President Emmerson Mnangagwa of joining leaders from various walks of life in addressing the plight of the people affected by Cyclone Idai.
“This calls for cooperation across religious, ethnic, political, cultural and social divide as a nation,” Reverend Malunga added.
