An upcoming South African based rapper is overwhelmed with the response he is getting from a music video he recently released.
This publication caught up with youthful artiste Knowledge Muvuti better known as Chronicc in the music circles who could not hide his joy after battling to get into the limelight for many years.
“I have been doing music since my days in high school and was part of a musical group called 12 Eleven but my fan base has grown after the release of my single ‘Selfie’ a collaboration with Young Zvix,” said Chronicc .
The sleek video was shot in Harare and Cape Town, South Africa and mimics how people are now obsessed with taking ‘selfies’ with their smart-phones .
The Gweru-born rapper says he drew his motivation from international and local musicians that include Tupac, Bow Wow, Lil Wayne,Roki,Maskiri,ExQ and Cde Chinx.
Recently , Chronicc dropped ‘Wrong Turn’ which admonishes violence against women.
“I was inspired to write this song after seeing many cases of women being abused.
“The song is inspired by most popular gory movie series “Wrong turn” I liken those who abuse women with the creatures that will be killing humans on this movie,” added Chronicc.
However, the rapper who is currently studying in South Africa has no kind words to local radio stations DJs for shutting the door on budding artistes.
“I have a problem with DJs who only plays established artistes only shutting the door for us upcoming artistes,” fumed Muvuti.
The affable singer in 2017 released a single ‘Kabhebhi Kanogeza’ which also got spins on several radio stations.
