Fresh. Exquisite. Dependable. Majestic. Refreshing. Compact. Versatile. Different. This is a fair trial but inadequate attempt to describe Victoria Falls’ most recent, attractive, and popular citadel of tourism and hospitality services – the Zambezi Guest House.
It is completely private – secluded and nestled in a peaceful suburb of Victoria Falls, approximately a 1 km walk or drive to town and 3.5 km to the majestic Victoria Falls. Guests have exclusive use of this home which sleeps 24 to 26 people comfortably.
Matidaishe Jairos, the General Manager of the Zambezi Boutique Guest House is upbeat that the place is unique in that it is approachable and creates an environment of intimacy among the guests and the hosts.
“Guests see how the food is cooked. Everything here is ala carte. Everyone is free to order individual dishes from our unique menu – that is, what you want when you want it. We offer luxurious, comfortable 5-star services,” Matidaishe said.
There are first-aid kits in all the rooms as well as double showers suitable for honeymoon couples, or people travelling alone. The place combines leisure and business. There is fibre connection hence guests enjoy free WiFi. In the bathrooms, there are re-usable body-washers.
This place offers a welcoming environment in a modern way but still maintaining our true African identity. There is a gym, wine cellar and the icing of the cake is the roof-top bar that offers breathtaking sunset views; a good view of the Zambezi River and part of the Livingston area of Zambia.
“This place is discreet. We serve sushi made freshly. The seafood here is flown in twice a week from Cape Town. It’s the best for people with a taste for smaller places that are hospitable and comfortable.”
Emmanuel Tivatye, one of the senior managers, described the place as compact, versatile and different.
“As guests order food, they are given the opportunity to participate in the production of the food. Our workers are trained in many aspects of Victoria Falls so that they will be able to respond to guests’ needs,” Tivatye said.
