One of Zimbabwe’s most effective youth organizations, Youth Empowerment Through Innovation Trust ( YETIN) is set to launch the first-ever National Youth Conference on 13t April 2024 at the Harare International Conference Centre.
The one-day Conference is in partnership between the Zimbabwe Government and YETIN Trust.
Running under the theme ” Willingly Receiving The Baton of Historical Knowledge and Our Identity as Youth”, the National Conference aims to bring all the youth around Zimbabwe together and share their knowledge on entrepreneurship and receive the baton of Historical Knowledge and Zimbabwean Identity.
The Founder and Director of the organization, Miss Gugulethu Moyo, said the Conference is aimed at bridging the gap between the younger and the older generation and giving the youths Historical Knowledge and Identity as the youths of Zimbabwe.
“The forthcoming youth conference is aimed at conscientising the youth on the importance of Zimbabwean history and to have their identity as Zimbabweans. I hope that at the end of the conference, the youth will be well equipped with the knowledge gained during the sessions,” said Miss Moyo.
The Director called all the youth across the country to come in their numbers for the one-day Conference which will leave them with open minds about Zimbabwean history. The Organization is and has always been standing up to protect African people from losing their natural Resources, modern-day slavery, human trafficking, satanism, and loss of intellectual property rights.
The founding Director also said they are expecting the youth to bring their inventions so that they exhibit them on the day.
“The youths are expected to bring their concept notes, social media handles, pictures or videos of inventions/businesses, and referrals for exhibition. There will be funding opportunities for them. We will be looking for ten innovators and inventors that we will fund their projects, ” said Ms Moyo.
She added that after the Harare launch, the organization has plans to go around all the cities and towns in the country and later to all SADC countries so that they preach the gospel of unity, love, and harmony.
“So our three first cities are 13 April Harare, the first week of May we will be in Bindura and the last week of that month we will be in Bulawayo. After that, we will go around to some other provinces and our next country is Zambia. At the opening of our National launch, we are going to invite all Ambassadors from the SADC Region.
“All we need is Unity and Peace in Zimbabwe and Africa so that we can work together.”
YETIN TRUST’s vision is to empower and emancipate young people through self-development and economic growth as well as to develop a self-sustaining human capital that creates employment through innovation and enterprise.
Other dignitaries expected to grace the occasion include Government and ZANU pf officials, SADC Region Ambassadors, and Ministry representatives. Entertainment is expected to be provided by Vee Mpofu and Gomo Ramandiriri Mbira Group. There will be music, dance, theatre, and poetry from various youth groups.
