The Southern African Youth Development Council (SAYDC) will meet diverse youth group delegates from the SADC region in Harare to deliberate on innovative projects and resolutions.

Intercontinental Youth Connect spokesperson, Tamuka Hove, said this during a media briefing on Tuesday.

He said the scheduling of the SAYDC meeting, which will be held just before the 44th Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit of Heads of State and Government, was timely as it aims to have their resolutions discussed.

“The Southern African Youth Development Council program aims to bring together a diverse group of youth delegates from the SADC region to present innovative projects and resolutions that will be submitted during the 44th Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit of Heads of State and Government 2024, which Zimbabwe is honoured to host,” Hove said.

“This unique platform encourages regional cooperation and youth development, as we collectively strive to address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead,” he added.

Hove said the SAYDC program serves as a testament to the unwavering dedication to empowering young people and celebrating their invaluable contributions to the betterment of the region.

He said the initiative will generate impactful ideas, and inspire and motivate youth to continue striving for excellence in their respective fields.

“Our focus areas for these resolutions and projects encompass various sectors and industries, including Smart Governance, Smart People, Smart Living, Smart Mobility, Smart Economy, Smart Environment, Agriculture, Finance, Health, Education, Infrastructure Development, ICT-Engineering, and Green Energy,” he said.
