In an electrifying display of energy and talent, the young dancers of the Budiriro Cultural Arts took home the coveted first prize in the recent Chibuku Neshamwari traditional dance competition held in Chinhoyi last Saturday.
The youthful dancers aged between 18 and 22, mesmerized the audience with their flawless execution of intricate steps and rhythms, showcasing their mastery of the traditional dance style.
Their winning performance of the Mhande dance, which was hailed as “breathtaking” and “exuberant” by the judges, was the culmination of months of dedicated practice and hard work.
“We are thrilled and humbled by this achievement,” said Tendai Musapurwa, beaming with pride.
“Our team’s passion and dedication to preserving our cultural heritage through dance have truly paid off.”
The group’s victory has sparked widespread celebration in Kadoma community, with many hailing the young dancers as cultural ambassadors and role models for their peers.

The group will represent Mashonaland West province in the national finals scheduled for Masvingo.
