The country’s rising traditional mbira and Afro-fusion artiste, Virimai Edmore Nhedenga – aka Vee Mhofu – says Zimbabwe and her people are his sources of inspiration.

Vee Mhofu made the statement during a recent online interview with this publication.

“My country and its people are my sources of inspiration,” confirmed Vee Mhofu.

The 33-year-old musician is currently among the most sought-after traditional mbira artistes. His popularity has seen him performing at upmarket entertainment places in the capital.

The young artiste’s impact on the regional music arena has led to an invitation to perform at a prestigious music festival in South Africa, at the end of the year.

Vee Mhofu embarked on his music career at the age of 15. He has released 3 albums to date. Produced by Dumisani the Commando at Gramma Records: Makurutese, his debut album, was launched in 2012.
