Zimbabwe registers re-engagement milestones at World Travel Market London

The global travel and tourism event, World Travel Market London, officially opened its doors on the 7th of November 2022 to welcome the biggest names in the industry from every travel sector to connect and network with each other and find new ways to grow and develop their business.

The Deputy Minister of Environment, Climate, Tourism, and Hospitality Industry Hon Barbara Rwodzi is leading the Zimbabwe delegation at this ongoing World Travel Market in London United Kingdom under the theme of ‘The Future of Travel Starts Now’.

With the reopening of the country to foreign tourists, after a gap of almost 2 years because of the global pandemic COVID-19, this year`s participation of Zimbabwe is particularly significant. After the world’s largest vaccination drive, the country is ready for international tourists. Zimbabwe is participating in World Travel Market 2022 to showcase itself as a preferred destination for tourism.

Honourable Barbara Rwodzi had an opportunity to have a bilateral meeting with the Malawian Minister of Tourism, Culture and Wildlife Hon Michael B. Usi. The Bilateral collaboration was important for economic potential through the opening up of new cultural processes and markets. Having in mind the tourism potential of Malawi and Zimbabwe this measure, in this context, aims at enriching the cultural and tourist offer of both countries.

The Deputy Ambassador of Zimbabwe to the United Kingdom Mr. Elisha Karodza is also present supporting the efforts of marketing Zimbabwe as a preferred tourism destination.
