For many, the coronavirus-induced national lockdown has negatively affected various facets of life ranging from work, school, travel and tourism, leisure and sport among others but for 14-year old Soga Siasitumuzira it was a blessing in disguise as it enabled him to focus on his long cherished dream of being a producer.
Producer Stylish as he is affectionately known in the small town of Chinhoyi, Soga rose to stardom after following his father’s footsteps in the music industry with a bias towards recording and producing music across all genres.
Son to prominent sungura musician Jonathan Siasitumuzira affectionately known as Mr Chinhoyi or Madzibaba Gina of the Dai Mauya Vapora fame, Producer Stylish operates under Stumu Production, a Chinhoyi-based recording company renowned for top notch sound systems which has become the envy for many in the local music industry.
“I am taking advantage of the Covid-19 lockdown to horn my skills as a producer. I am determined to make my brand visible at national and regional levels through networking with other producers and musicians from all genres across the country. I hope to continue on this trajectory as it is bearing fruit. When schools finally resume I will try to strike a balance between my career and my academic studies,” said Producer Stylish in an interview with this reporter.
The teen producer has made a name for himself in the local music industry owing to the quality of work he produces.
He has also inspired many youthful chanters across the country with some already signed to his growing stable.
The Chinhoyi High School student is also renowned for producing the hit single Murumbwana.
