The Zimbabwe Institute of Strategic Thinking (ZIST) is set to host its annual mid-year stakeholders’ conference in Victoria Falls from the 1st to the 3rd of July 2024. This year’s conference aims to focus on the priming of all strategic institutions towards the delivery of Vision 2030.
The conference, with the theme “Priming of all strategic institutions towards the delivery of Vision 2030,” aims to unite key players from various sectors to discuss and strategize on how to achieve the national development goals outlined in Vision 2030. With a diverse array of stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, academics, and civil society representatives, the conference promises to be a significant platform for collaboration and progress.
Dr. Tinashe Eric Muzamhindo, the CEO of ZIST, emphasizes the importance of the conference in driving the nation towards its long-term development goals. He states, “This conference is crucial in providing a platform for stakeholders to align their efforts and strategies towards achieving Vision 2030. We need a collective approach to address the challenges faced by our strategic institutions and ensure effective resource utilization.”
The conference agenda has been carefully crafted to address the key areas necessary for the successful implementation of Vision 2030. These areas include setting economic and development targets, priming strategic institutions, developing benchmarks of progressive developments, conducting institutional reviews, and focusing on effective resource utilization towards organizational objectives. Additionally, there will be discussions on the collaboration of economic players and clear short and long-term planning.
One of the primary objectives of the conference is to set economic and development targets that will guide stakeholders in their efforts to achieve Vision 2030. This strategic planning will involve identifying specific goals and outlining the necessary steps to reach them. By doing so, stakeholders will be able to measure their progress and effectively allocate resources to the areas that require the most attention.
Furthermore, the conference will focus on the priming of all strategic institutions towards the goals set by Vision 2030. This includes reviewing the mandates and responsibilities of these institutions, and ensuring they are aligned with the national development agenda. Through this process, stakeholders will be able to identify any gaps or areas for improvement, allowing for more efficient and effective operations.
Developing benchmarks for progressive developments is another crucial aspect of the conference agenda. By creating clear benchmarks, stakeholders will have a basis for measuring progress and identifying any areas that may need further attention. This will aid in tracking the implementation of strategic initiatives and allow for necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.
To ensure effective resource use towards set organizational objectives, discussions will center on finding innovative approaches to utilizing available resources. This includes exploring collaboration opportunities among economic players and fostering partnerships that can catalyze development. By sharing best practices and experiences, stakeholders can collectively find solutions to challenges and achieve their objectives.
Muzamhindo affirms the significance of collaboration in achieving Vision 2030. He states, “Collaboration is vital in driving economic growth and development. This conference aims to bring together diverse stakeholders who can contribute their unique perspectives and expertise to find collective solutions.”
Lastly, the conference will emphasize the importance of clear short and long-term planning. Stakeholders will engage in discussions on effective planning strategies to ensure that goals are not only achievable but also sustainable. This will involve considering potential risks, identifying opportunities, and devising strategies to overcome obstacles.
The ZIST Vic Falls Mid-year Stakeholders’ Conference is a crucial platform for stakeholders to come together and strategize on how to achieve the national development goals outlined in Vision 2030. With a comprehensive agenda that encompasses all strategic areas, this conference promises to be a stepping stone towards a brighter future for Zimbabwe.
