Churches under the banner of the Tehillar Christian Network led by Reverend Sam Malunga have commended and applauded First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa for her community development initiatives and philanthropic work.
“The works being carried out by Amai Mnangagwa are in line with Biblical statutes, oracles and ordinances. These call on care and love for the underprivileged members of the community which should be emulated,” said Reverend Malunga.
The Tehillar Christian Network has described the First Lady as a role model and pacesetter to Zimbabweans at large.
“We would like to call upon the corporate world, churches and societal institutions to complement the First Lady’s commendable efforts of mitigating the plight of the marginalised members of the community.
“The God-given visionary formation of the Angel of Hope Foundation is a direct translation of First Lady Amai Mnangagwa’s good loving heart for the people of Zimbabwe. This calls for corporate effort and mutual involvement of all Zimbabweans to see the eventual full translation of the First Lady’s vision to concrete form and to reality,” Reverend Malunga said.
The Tehillar Christian Network is optimistic that the First Lady has broken the record by inviting to the Zimbabwe House various sectors of society such as church leaders, chiefs’ wives, women in business, widows and other entities in society. The invited guests would discuss their challenges and map out ways to share their burdens in their respective sectors with the First Lady.
Against this background, the Tehillar Christian Network is calling upon media institutions to unequivocally engage in constructive and developmental journalism as opposed to retrogressive journalism which fails to project successes and positive initiatives by national leaders.
Reverend Malunga said developmental journalism amounts to reversing and redressing negative media publicity about Zimbabwe. Retrogressive journalism, according to him, is a component of the destabilisation agenda by agents of colonialism whose agenda is to portray African leaders and its people in a bad light while ignoring the positive stories.
