.. Destiny of Afrika Network Targets 20,000 Housing Units for Harare by 2030, Opens Offices in Diaspora Hubs
HARARE – In line with the government’s Vision 2030, Destiny of Afrika’s Housing Project has entered its second phase, with 5,000 housing stands set to be developed in Harare and Chitungwiza. The project aims to provide affordable housing to low- and middle-income earners, including civil servants, vendors, and diaspora communities.
According to Reverend Obadiah Musindo, the Founder and President of Destiny of Africa Network, while addressing prospective beneficiaries in Harare today, said the project targets to deliver 20,000 housing units in Harare by 2030. Similar projects are also underway in other towns, including Mutare, Chegutu, Kadoma, Bindura, Chinhoyi, and Bulawayo.
To reach diaspora communities, the government has opened offices in Durban, Cape Town, Pretoria, Dubai, London, and other European cities. These offices will facilitate applications and payments from Zimbabweans living abroad.
The project offers flexible payment plans, including a 60-month repayment period for civil servants, including nurses, teachers, and vendors. Private land developers are also being encouraged to participate, with title deeds being offered to beneficiaries.
Several beneficiaries have already received their housing units, including Zvavamwe from Marondera, Monica Dedza from Chinhoyi, and Mr. Gowera from Kadoma. The housing units come with amenities such as electricity and water.
The government has emphasized its commitment to creating a conducive and enabling environment for housing development, empowerment, and economic growth.
As the project gains momentum, thousands of Zimbabweans are expected to benefit from affordable housing, improved living standards, and economic empowerment.
