Dr. Solomon Matsa, the President of the Business Economic Empowerment Federation (BEEF) who was the Guest of Honour at a prize-giving ceremony at Dambudzo school on Thursday awarded 12 students scholarships until they finish Advanced Level.

Dambudzo School has 1613 students and 48 teachers, proving the need for more schools in the country since Zimbabweans take education seriously.

The school was named after President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa. Dr. Solomon Matsa was bestowed as the Guest of Honour because of his philanthropic work and is a role model in society who has acquired wealth through hard work, dedication, and commitment to empowering disadvantaged communities.

Addressing students, Dr. Matsa touched on key messages of advice to the students for them to succeed in life.

“For you to be great students, you must listen to your parents, and teachers and emulate our noble President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa for his works and passion for his country. You must work hard and smart so that you take Zimbabwe to another level economically. The economy is the basis for current wars worldwide.

“Students, I encourage you to find your talents and passion and follow them to perfection. Do not be forced to do things that you are not gifted in. You must love your country and take great care of the development and sovereignty of this great nation in all your deeds. I urge you to choose the right careers to service the demands of our country and take special consideration in mining, agriculture, tourism, procurement, supply chain and relevant service programmes to the above low-hanging professions and business opportunities,” Dr Matsa said.

He encouraged students to be identified with integrity in everything they do so that they become global citizens who put Zimbabwe on the world map.

The black economic empowerment proponent said in pursuing education, students must bear in mind that Zimbabwe and its people must come first at all times in whatever they choose to do and should at no given time undermine the nation.

“You should have an insatiable craving for education and knowledge so that your innovativeness and creativity become endless. I would like to remind all of you that academic education and knowledge are useless without tangible products from the application of that knowledge.

“I want you to know that the practical application of knowledge is the only solution to our country’s challenges. Thus we must all work and innovate continuously to satisfy the demands of our country and continent. You must know that the Mantra Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo (a country is built by its own people) is there to give directions to you and all other citizens to take ownership of our development and all the great fruits derived from such hard work. We must never sell or give away our country to white monopoly capitalists. Instead, we should see more millionaires and billionaires in our midst,” Dr. Matsa added.

The Headmaster of Dambudzo School, Mr. Majoni, thanked Dr. Matsa for putting education at the top of his priorities.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Matsa for putting education at the top of his priorities in pursuit of empowering our students with knowledge so that they become future leaders who will take Zimbabwe to a higher level on the economic front. I encourage other businesspeople to emulate his works,” Mr. Majoni said.
