To ramp up the valuable input of physical exercise for people in lockdown, DStv and Virgin Active have partnered to bring viewers workouts designed by the very best instructors and fitness experts from around the world.

Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, said that many gym regulars were housebound during lockdown and the DStv easy-to-follow workouts  would stimulate physical activity, with benefits to body and mind.

“These workouts range from high intensity ones that make participants sweat to more mindful, restorative practices that feed the soul,” she said.

The workouts started on  April 16 and are broadcast each day on the SuperSport Blitz channel at 8am and 5pm.

Participants are guided by Ceri Hannan and Bongo Ntlokwana, two Virgin Active coaches who highlight  great mobility flows and high intensity interval training routines to get stamina up and allow people to start benchmarking their progress. Each workout is designed to cater to varying levels of fitness, with the progression or regression of each movement demonstrated so that participants can work out according to their abilities and fitness levels.

“it’s another meaningful addition to the DStv offering during the period of lockdown and we hope it will stimulate much-needed physical action in the home,” said Ms Dziva.
