In a bid to strengthen and honour the institution of marriage, the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) Zimbabwe Chapter rededicated 4 000 couples at a colourful event held in Harare recently.

Speaking about the event, Archbishop Johanes Ndanga, the President of the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe (ACCZ) said the move was in line with FFWPU that exists to advocate for world peace.

“Peace starts in the home for it to be real. With a peace foundation grounded in the family, the peace cascades into the political, social and economic life of a person. As FFWPU, our major focus is on families. In Zimbabwe, we are now focusing on spreading the cosmic marriage blessing across the country,” Archbishop Ndanga said.

Couples drawn from Bulawayo, Midlands, Masvingo, Mashonaland East and West and the Harare Provinces attended the Harare marriage blessing ceremony and 4 000 couples were blessed.

The important event will go in the annals of history as one of the most attended and well represented in the Christian circles. In attendance was the FFWPU Secretary General, Young Ho Yun who came all the way from the organisation’s headquarters in South Korea; the Africa FFWPU Group Chairperson Reverend Bakary Camara; 24 FFWPU representatives and delegates from countries as far and wide as Canada, Netherlands, the USA and England and from many African countries.

“Dedicating marriages according to God’s original plan of creation ensures trust between couples and the family members because people will learn that fidelity has more dividends as opposed to infidelity,” Archbishop Ndanga added.

According to Genesis 1:27, there are three stages of humankind. Firstly, God created Man in His Own image. God created man and woman and declared them husband and wife. Then he blessed them and gave them dominion over everything.

What that means is that when we fail to meet our needs, it is because we will be acting outside God’s declaration. Nowadays, may don’t understand what marriage entails. If one has this knowledge, one can access God’s declaration, that is, as husband and wife. The Bible declares that we should be fruitful and multiply.
