Rooftop Promotions’ Programs Officer Passmore Ndlovu says that the institution is ready for the concert. He also adds that the artist and the band members are also geared for it.

“We are well prepared for this show, the performers are also ready for it. I am however encouraging the public to book their tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

It looks like we are still not taking huge numbers because of the global pandemic” Ndlovu said.

In a statement, the artist Albert Nyabinde says that the band is ready and they are expecting all music lovers to be there.

“We are going to do our best and I think right now we are geared and we expect to see everyone coming to enjoy our first show this year. We are also full of energy and excitement” Nyabinde commented.

Born Albert Tendai Nyabinde, the artist started his music career in 1999 as a choreographer and bassist for Savannah Drive Band fronted by ‘The Headmaster’ Bob Nyabinde.

To date, he has released three beautiful tracks Pane Nzvimbo, Mwari Mubatsiri, and Jehovah Mufudzi which have enjoyed a fair play on local radio stations like Classic 263 and others. Nyabinde is a saxophonist who has been thoroughly mentored over the years and is currently working on his debut album to be released in just a few months.

The Jazz and Soul Friday Night was launched through this longstanding partnership between Theatre in the Park and Dollarbill Entertainment to give Zimbabwean artists a platform to continue with their music career during the harsh conditions necessitated by the global COVID-19 pandemic. The platform uplifted various celebrated artists. Hope Masike, Feli Nandi, Gary Tight, and many more other big names have performed on this platform several times.
