Marvel Studios Pop-Up Channel on DStv Premium

After the success of a series of pop-up channels on DStv’s Premium Bouquet, it’s time for another entertainment boost with the 10-day screening of a host of action blockbusters from Marvel Studios as the newest pop-up offering.

Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe said the M-Net Movies Marvel Pop-up Channel would run on channel 109 from Friday April 13 to Sunday April 22.“Well-timed for the school holidays, this cinematic journey will complement the existing six M-Net Movies channels on DStv and will feature 15 of the best films from the massively popular Marvel Studios franchise,” she said.

The channel will run from 6am to midnight every day of the run, and on each day a film from the franchise will be screened in chronological order, following the schedule with which they were released into cinemas. These will start with 2008’s Iron Man and move all the way through to Spiderman: Homecoming, which will close the channel on April 22.

“With the major success internationally of Black Panther, this channel is timely and gives viewers a chance to re-live the adventures or see them for the first time; a treat either way,” said Ms Dziva.“Marvel Studios is at the forefront of the comic-book-pop-culture phenomenon and the M-Net Movies Marvel Pop-Up channel will give DStv viewers the opportunity to enjoy gems of the franchise, leading to their next cinematic release, Avengers: Infinity War, which is scheduled for international release on Friday 27.”

In addition to the 15 feature films complementary programming will be linked to behind-the-scenes action, including United We Stand, Divided We Fall, The Making of Captain America: Civil War and Guide to The Galaxy with James Gunn.
