Harare: Afro-fusion artiste, Eriah Tembo – aka Bluu-T – is set to celebrate his 33rd birthday in style on the 19th of this month. The musician recently got back in the limelight after a long hiatus with the release of his fourth album Musandiregerere on social media platforms on the 15th of July. His birthday is on the 17th but he has decided to celebrate it 2 days later at a bash at Beverly Bar in Masasa, here in the capital city.

Apart from the birthday celebrations, the Masasa event will see the artiste and the Horizon Band, his music ensemble, promoting his latest album. Produced, mixed, and mastered by Antony Gasani, Ayat, and Maselo, Musandiregerere is a 9-track compilation. Bluu-T collaborated with celebrated musicians from various genres on the project. Among the big names on the album are Roki, Silent Killer, Killer T, and Andy Muridzo.

Despite being the son of the late music icon Biggie Tembo, Bluu-T has crafted a niche of his own in the music arena. Announcing the official launch of the latest album, last month, the musician said: “It is with great pleasure and delight that l publicly announce the release and publication of my fourth album titled MUSANDIREGERERE.

“It is high time that this generation should come to an understanding that since the days of the Bhundu Boys until now the Bhundu legacy shall by no means be replaced.

“As a contemporary voice, l am proud to know that despite all the different sounds being played today l took enough time working on this project, perfecting it, and making it distinct. There was no one near to confuse me, so I was forced to become original and l believe the Bhundu legacy fans and music lovers are going to enjoy this piece of ‘cake’.

“As a musician, l am never moved by the prevailing winds in terms of the different tastes of music. I believe in originality and know that if l am given enough time on music platforms and stations, people will definitely fall in love with this album. I have learned to be my own artiste, and l am always confident in what l am doing. From my previous albums, l have encountered a lot of ups and downs and I decided long ago never to walk in anyone’s shadow; if I fail, or if I succeed at least I did as I believe l have faith in MUSANDIREGERERE.

“To quench the thirst of different music lovers, l have collaborated with renowned artistes Killer T, Andy Muridzo, Silent Killer, and Roki. A musician should only sound like what he or she does, and no two musicians sound the same. It’s an individual-feel thing, you know? So collaborating with these artistes does not make my music sound like theirs. No! It is only an indirect message that music is one and as musicians, we are a united front for the same goal which is to satisfy the needs of music lovers.”

Musandiregerere has received a lot of media attention since being unpacked by the public. Most of the songs are being played on popular radio stations such as Star FM and Radio Zimbabwe.
