UPCOMING Afro-fusion musician Leo Makwarimba has released two singles Zororo and Denga ririkufara. The tracks were recorded and produced at Gart Media Studios in Harare.

Affectionately known as Mudhuri Murefu AK47 in music circles, Leo was born 33 years ago in Makwarimba Village, Wedza.

He attended Matsine Secondary and Kuwadzana High schools before enrolling at Harare Polytechnic College where he obtained a Higher National Diploma in Transport Management and Logistics. Currently, he is working at Chloride Zimbabwe. He founded the Kuenda Mberi Kings band in 2016.

“My interest in music grew in 2015 when I started going to United Apostolic Faith Church. I joined the praise and worship team where my vocal skills were honed.

“I started singing at a tender age and I used to entertain my siblings while working in the fields. At secondary school, I also competed at talent shows. Since 2015 I composed many songs but could not record them due to financial constraints. I only managed to record these two tracks this year,” the Zororo singer said.

“Zororo is a track that encourages people to work hard to achieve their desired goals in life while Denga riri kufara talks about the rejoicing of the angels and other heavenly creatures when people give their lives to Jesus Christ,” he added.

The youthful crooner is hopeful that his two singles which are currently receiving favourable airplay on local radio stations will solidify his fan base as his lyrics are mature and promotes family and societal values.
