Rhumba band Yenge Family to rock Theatre in the Park this Friday

Music Crossroads Academy Zimbabwe resident band Yenge Family will this Friday the 6th of May 2022 perform at Theatre in the Park from 7 PM until 10 PM. The admission is only $5, tickets are still available and bookings can be done on 0774232478 or 0782217462. The concert is organized by Rooftop Promotions and Dollarbill Entertainment.

Rooftop Promotions programs and communications manager Passmore Ndlovu told journalists that the institution is prepared to host this band. He also added that they see great potential in the band and hope to be having more shows with band at their venue at Theatre in the Park. Yenge Family band manager Allen Kachepa said that the band is so excited to be performing at this venue.

Yenge Family is a rhumba ensemble formed by Collen Tom in 2015 who is currently a music tutor at the Music Crossroads Academy Zimbabwe. The 8 piece band is comprised of Congolese, Zambian and Zimbabwean members that make up the band. These are Collen Tom (Drums), Takudzwa Bare (Keyboard), Gaylord Muhlanga (Guitar), Ebenezer Majari, and Freedom Chinosengwa on the bass guitars.

Allan Bands plays the rhythm guitar, Antony Gasani is on the acoustic guitar, Tshimanga Ntanbue and Alex Mwenda are on the vocals. Panashe Nyandoro, Munashe Nyandoro, Praymore Wahiya, and Prince Mbisa will also be part of the band as choreographers. To date, the band has released two albums, the first titled ‘100% Seben’ was released in 2018 and they recently released the second album on the 1st of May this year titled ‘Gloire à Jésus-Christ’.

The organizers also said that full bar and catering services will be available at the venue and all Covid-19 regulations will be strictly adhered to. Tickets are being sold at Theatre in the Park offices located at the corner of Leopold Takawira and Herbert Chitepo in the Harare Gardens.
