Shamva District Ready For NAPH Provincial Competitions: Chomunhu

Shamva District is ready for the forthcoming National Primary School Heads (NAPH) Mashonaland Central Province provincial athletics competitions according to the team’s head in charge of athletics, Phillip Chomunhu.

Shamva district is making preparations for the provincial showcase at Mutumba Primary School. The athletics competitions are scheduled for this Friday at Trojan Mine.

Chomunhu had this to say about his team: “Our District competitions were a great success. We witnessed a great improvement in terms of the organisation of the competition as well as the quality of the athletes. Our officials did a splendid job. We managed to select the best athletes from the District.

“We are now focusing on preparing a strong team to go and represent us at our Provincial Competitions. We will be ready for the task. We will give it our best shot. We would like to thank our trainers from different schools for training our athletes. Special thanks go to Naph for putting up such a flawless show. Trojan, here we come!”

Last Friday saw Shamva district holding its district athletics competitions at Mutumba Primary School. The competitions which were held in preparation for the provincial showcase, saw 3 parts of Shamva district: Central, West, and South battling it out for top honours.

Victory went to Shamva West. The second and third positions went to South and Central respectively. Top athletes from the 3 sections of Shamva district will represent the district at Trojan Mine this Friday.
