Taylor Swift Smashes YouTube Record with ME! Music Video Which Earned 65.2 Million Views in 24 Hours

Taylor Swift made her big comeback and she’s already back to breaking records with her new single ME!

Marking her return to music, Taylor, 29, teamed up with Panic! At the Disco’s Brendon Urie and released the pastel-coloured music video last week much to the surprise of her devoted Swifties.

Well it seems Taylor has hit the ground running as YouTube has announced that the popstar has scored the highest female and solo 24-hour debut for any music video.

ME! notched up a staggering 65.2 million views within just one day of releasing the music video and, so far, it’s received 89 million views in total. Not bad for just a few days.

The colourful visuals see Taylor banishing the snakes – Bad Blood era over? – in exchange for butterflies while also featuring appearances from the singer’s beloved cats including her number one Meredith.

The lyrics are all about self-love, with Taylor and Brendan singing: ‘Girl there ain’t no I in team, but you know there is a me, and you can’t spell awesome without me.’

Fans are now awaiting news on Taylor’s inevitable new album and have been busy putting all those theories together based on ME! Many seem to think the popstar’s seventh studio album will be called Kaleidoscope based on clues hidden in the music video, which would make sense given the colourful pallette of pastels.

The most obvious clue is that there’s an actual kaleidoscope with Brendan revealing a heart-shaped one underneath his jacket. Sneaky. Those nifty theorists have also harkened back to Taylor’s fifth album 1989 and the song Welcome To New York, which features the line: ‘kaleidoscope of loud heartbeats under coats’.

Also, in case you haven’t noticed Taylor sporting a new look in recent weeks, she’s dyed the tips of her hair pink. Sounds like those Swifties have solved the mystery but with Taylor, anything’s possible.
