Rising Afro-fusion musician Belmore Mtandwa of the Letty Letty fame has roped in seasoned singer Tocky Vibes on his latest project Ngatifare.

The duo worked together on a love song titled Anondida. Other tracks on Mtandwa’s forthcoming second album expected to be launched online on 23 September are Chidembo, Letty Letty, Ngatifare (title track) and Anondida. The album was produced by George Malion at IMusic Records in the capital, Harare.

The Rockers Band frontman gained popularity a few years ago when his hit track Letty Letty dominated the airwaves after an impressive run on local radio charts.

His previous works include his debut album Hupenyu Musiki, Letty Letty (single) and Koshesai Rudo (single).

Speaking to this reporter, the Letty Letty hit maker, aged 37, said, “My new offering is surely set to rock the airwaves and fans will definitely enjoy it as the tracks have been well polished to tingle the ear buds. I sampled the song Ngatifare online and the feedback has been tremendous. Most people who commented expressed satisfaction and to enhance the album’s appeal I have also included the hit Letty Letty because most people identify me with the song which became quite popular a few years ago.

“Initially I wanted to launch the album in December but because of the prolonged Covid-19 lockdown I had to give my loyal fans new music to dance to while in the comfort of their homes.”

Both Tocky Vibes and Mtandwa have been credited for their versatility with the former featuring prominently on collaborations with other artistes in Zimbabwe and beyond borders. He is also credited for being among the few local artistes who successfully transformed his musical fortunes after shifting from ridding on popular riddims to performing with a live band. The latter has also aggressively revamped his brand by digitizing much of his work at the advent of the Covid-19 outbreak early this year.
