Touch Road Facilitates Business Tourist Arrivals

Touch Road Holdings facilitated the arrival of over sixty business tourists and the signing of sister-city partnerships in Harare yesterday.

Touch Road Holdings which signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Tourism has continued its gesture by luring over 60 business tourists and political dignitaries.

“Allow me to commend Touch Road for diligently implementing the Memorandum of Understanding they signed with the Ministry of Tourism. That MOU has contributed to the growing number of visitors from China to Zimbabwe,” the Guest of Honour President Emmerson Mnangagwa said.

The business tourists were informed on the country’s special economic zones in tourists that offered incentivised investment opportunities.

“We have special economic zones for investment in the tourism sector in the 1200 hectare Masuwe state land in Victoria Falls, Tokwe Mukosi in Midlands and in Kanyemba where we are planning to construct a tourism city in Kariba and Binga. These enclaves are incentivised for tax and you are urged to do business in Zimbabwe,” Mr Tongoona Chitando, Finance Manager of Zimbabwe Special Economic Zones said.

“Matabeleland North has vast potential as it is home to the majestic one of  the seven natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls. The development of a tourism corridor covering two provinces is central as the entire corridor is full of wonders,” President Mnangangwa said.

The two countries reiterated the shared mutual gains that the two countries were enjoying because of the continuing relations since before independence.

“Zimbabwe is an important partner to China as we share a lot of history. Last April, the two countries established the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Today we come from afar to strengthen this relationship and establish a mutually beneficial comprehensive partnership between our cities,” Ms Ge, Chairwomen of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Party said.

“There is convenient air connectivity to Victoria Falls courtesy of the airport that was constructed by a Chinese firm. Next to Victoria Falls we have Hwange which is currently undergoing renovations owing to a US$ 1.3 Billion loan from a Chinese bank,” the President added.

The President emphasised the need for Zimbabwean business people to learn from the vast experience possessed by the Chinese business counterparts.

The delegation will visit Chinhoyi and Victoria Fall and are set to sign many Memorandum’s of Understanding with Zimbabwean cities and Provinces.
