Mister Africa International Zimbabwe, a product of Mister Africa International was founded by Ayutonde Twitch in London 2012.
The pageant was founded in the roots that are meant to promote Africa’s male models and to celebrate the modeling sector.

Mister Africa International pageant directors from different countries select a delegate/model who will represent his country at the regional competition of Mister Africa International.

Zimbabwe has had three of its own models who have managed to take part in the ceremony and have successfully made the country proud. In 2018, Tapiwa Zimhamba (fitness and commercial model) took part in the event and won the Best Beach Award in Nigeria.

In an event that was held in Ivory Coast 2021, Devson Luzane represented the nation of Zimbabwe and won the third runner-up position of Mister Africa International and also won Mister Friendly and Brand Ambassador for the Mister Africa International pageant.

Last year, Mark Mabwe represented the nation. Unfortunately, his journey ended with him being in the top 10.  Through hard work and determination, the models have played a major role in representing the nation and the brands that we work with internationally.

This year Zimbabwe will be represented by Future Nyoni, who is the reigning Mister Senior Zimbabwe. The event is set to be held starting from the 1st of October.

Future Nyoni will contest virtually in a number of categories such as Best Photogenic, Best Suit, Best Beach Wear and Intelligence, and People’s Choice.

Who is Future Nyoni?

My name is Future Nyoni born in Hwange and now based in the majestic town of Victoria Falls. I am a  Co-founder of Nambya Development Organisation Trust and a co-founder of Party Haven Events & Supplies and Beauty Galaxy Organisation. A charity organization that aims to create a poverty-free society. Our main areas of concern are orphans, the elderly, and the disabled in our society. We also aim to support the art industry and give back to our community through giving and voluntary work.

How did his journey begin?

My professional modeling career started in 2017 at Open Eye Studios run by Samantha Tshuma. I hold the following titles, Victoria Falls Runway King 2022, Best Zim Male Runway 2020, Most Photogenic 2020, and Mr. Senior Zim 2022. I have participated at the Beautiful You African Fashion Show in Malawi and at The Global African Fashion Coalition hosted by Giga-Guru in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga in South Africa. I have showcased designs by Afro Phoenix, Zimbabwe; Zado fashions from Tanzania; Lele’s creations Black Shadow from South Africa and Tribal Trends by Shiko Onyango from Kenya.

What does representing the country mean?

I feel honoured to be part of the biggest male pageant in Africa. I responded to the casting call and during the process, I got selected.  It’s not an easy journey, trust me. Getting sponsorship, especially in my city where only tourism is the real deal, it’s indeed a big challenge, but well, I will soldier on and I won’t give up for what I love.

What does it mean if you win for your community and the continent?

Winning the title will definitely bring a lot of opportunities for me and my community as I will be in a better position to advocate for the recognition, and appreciation and demystify the negativity that people have attached to the male modeling industry. It will help me establish a modeling agency for grooming young boys to become Kings.

The agency will be embraced by the community as it will help nurture boys from the streets, instill good moral values through grooming and etiquette classes, and create a platform for men to open up and talk about mental and emotional health issues as well as fight drug abuse among the youths.
