Murombedzi – In its quest to ensure that no person or place is left behind in the provision of safer water, Zvimba Rural District Council has taken delivery of a new borehole rig.
The borehole rig worth US$339 000.00 is expected to solve water challenges through borehole provisions across the district.
Zvimba Rural District Council Chief Executive Officer, Aenas Chidakwa, said the borehole rig will go a long way in council service delivery for its residents, especially in water provision.
“The borehole rig will assist in improving the provision of safe potable water to the residents of Zvimba in the spirit of ensuring that no person or place is left behind. The borehole rig will also help government initiatives such as the Presidential Borehole Program supply for Chiefs and villages,” he said.
Chidakwa said the borehole rig was financed through devolution funds.
Zvimba Rural District Council is also currently in road rehabilitation across the district with various farmers supporting the initiative. Banket Town Board under Zvimba Rural District Council recently purchased a new grader.
