The year 2018 has been overflowing with abundant blessings for Mrs Gertrude Mandizvidza, the proprietor of Good Care Pre-school as awards for the institution and her as an individual continue to come.

Receiving her sixth award in a row this year alone, Mrs Mandizvidza was actually stunned on the 22nd of November 2018 when her name was called at the prestigious Megafest Business Awards 2018 as the first runner-up Entrepreneur of the Year.

“I received the invitation to attend the 2018 Megafest Business Awards as a nominee on the 5th of November 2018. On the 22nd of November, I just went to the awards ceremony just to grace the occasion as a nominee because there were great names in the entrepreneurship category.

“As nominees and winners of other categories were being called out, I felt it would not be my year because great men and women of high stature in society were being rewarded. When our time came, I was shocked to be nominated the first runner up in the entrepreneurship category. That became my sixth and most prestigious award in 2018. I give Glory to the Almighty for remembering me in such a big way!” Mrs Mandizvidza said.

The educationist was given special recognition for being a repository of being grounded in business etiquette at her prestigious centres of learning namely Good Care Pre-school and David Mascott Country School.

Mrs Mandizvidza is not a newcomer to harvesting awards in recognition of her work in advancing education in Zimbabwe. In 2017, the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce awarded the Women in Enterprise Conference Award Gertrude. That same year, Megafest honoured her as the runner-up female entrepreneur of the year.

The Zimbabwe Business Awards (ZIBA) Council, Harare and Northern Region nominated her in 2018 as the Business Woman of the Year – Academic Services.
