Monkey Nuts album launch at HIFA

The Monkey Nuts, Hip Hop alternative 3 member band is billed to launch their forth coming album titled Boom Bap Idiophonics at the Harare International Festival of Arts (HIFA) at the Hivos Poetry Lab on the 1st of May.

Boom Bap Idiophonic, the 8 track album features other artists from different walks of life as they worked with the French national, Dj Oil, Zimbabwean Mbira songstress Hope Masike.

This collaboration comes a year after Monkey Nuts, Hope Masike and Dj Oil performed together at the previous edition of HIFA. In a press statement released recently The Monkey Nuts said, “It’s great that after 3 days in studio we went on to perform a sold out show at HIFA with Dj Oil and Hope. And now we get to come back with something that was essentially born out of that collaboration show”.

On the evening of the launch Hip Hop heads will have a treat from the band and Mutare based rapper MK47 but the name of the venue will be affirmed by the hint of poetry that is set to compliment the album launch from UK Based poet Toby Thompson.

The Monkey Nuts boast of 4 years in existence and they have performed in prestigious events that match HIFA standard at home and abroad. Boom Bap Idiophonics is said to be a Hip Hop offering that carries a hopeful message inspired by a desire to fulfill ones dream
