The people of Chiweshe in Mashonaland Central Province witnessed the opening of the Maria Theresa ZimSmart Community E-Commerce and E-Health Center, inaugurated by Her Excellency Dr. A. Mnangagwa, with financial support from leading government-owned mobile telephony giant, NetOne.
“This center offers a ray of hope for the community, symbolizing a transformative leap towards digital inclusion. By providing e-commerce Opportunities for local businesses and improved access to essential health services, it stands as a beacon of hope, innovation, and empowerment. Promising a brighter future for Chiweshe, this center signifies the intersection of technology and healthcare to uplift and connect the community,” First Lady Amai Mnangagwa said.
Among notable dignitaries who graced the occasion were Honourable Chris Magomo, Resident Minister of Mashonaland Central; Honourable Tatenda Mavetera, Minister of ICTs; Honourable Barbra Rwodzi, the Minister of Tourism; and Honourable Dingimuzi Puthi, the Deputy Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services.
In welcoming delegates to the momentous occasion of launching the telemedicine virtual hospital in partnership with Zim Smart Village, Engineer Raphael Mushanawani, the NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer, paid tribute to her Her Excellency, Amai Mnangagwa’s unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare in the nation – a development that has been instrumental in bringing about the transformative initiative.
