President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday expressed his leadership commitment to ensuring youth inclusion and participation in all socio-economic activities and governance systems of the nation.
Addressing multitudes of young people and government officials who gathered at Mushagashe Vocational Training Centre in Masvingo on Wednesday to commemorate National Youth Day, President Mnangagwa expressed confidence in young people who have already been included in leadership positions saying that it is a sign that the young generation can drive the nation and its agendas forward.
“We, as your leadership in ZANU PF, shall continue to make bold deliberate decisions to ensure that our young people fully participate in all socio-economic activities and governance systems of our motherland. In parliament, government, and cabinet, we have them and we give them opportunities.
“I am happy that those young people whom we have given responsibilities in government, in parastatals and various agencies of the state are doing well so I say to our young people well done, and as your elders, we are confident that when we go, we shall leave our motherland Zimbabwe in good hands. I want to commend the Ministry of Youth and Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, and other stakeholders for facilitating exhibitions that I have seen here. These highlight the success of my government’s thrust to develop skills through an education system that creates goods and services that are useful for our people,” he said.
President Mnangagwa, accompanied by Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development, and Vocational Training, Minister Tino Machakaire, also took the chance to tour youth organisations’ exhibition tents and expressed satisfaction with their operations.
Among other organisations that President Mnangagwa toured include Teen Rescue Mission, which he acknowledged for championing young people-tailored economic empowerment initiatives and anti-drug campaigns.
