Rural poultry programme empowering communities in Zvimba North

Katawa – Women, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable community members in Zvimba North Constituency’s wards 15, 30, and 33 got empowered through the Presidential Rural Poultry Program.

Hundreds of people received road runner chicks which were handed over by Zvimba North Constituency legislator and ZANU PF Central Committee member, Hon Marian Chombo.

Hon Chombo said the program will assist rural communities to eradicate poverty and help economic development at the household level.

“These chicks from our President are a gift to you so that you are empowered. We are economically empowering communities at a household level as our government ensures that no place or person is left behind in our quest to attain an upper middle-income economy by 2030,” she said.

Hon Chombo said the rural poultry project will empower communities in participating in the financial sector from the household level.

ZANU PF Provincial League member Pretty Mugwagwa thanked President Emmerson Mnangagwa for ensuring the inclusiveness of the rural populace in economic development.

“We thank our visionary, President Mnangagwa, for ensuring that rural communities are not left behind in the economic activities in the country as each household will be financially empowered through the presidential rural poultry project that has greatly assisted vulnerable households,” she said.

ZANU PF Zvimba District Coordinating Committee Chairperson, Bywell “Shabba” Mbiri urged recipients to take care of the chicks and ensure the continuity of the projects.

“We need, as recipients for these chicks, to show our gratitude to our President by ensuring we successfully take care of the chicks so that our financial status at the household level improves in pursuit of eradicating poverty,” he said.
